Stick a Fork in it, UMBRA's Done!
It weighs in at a bouncing 119,300 words, and has taken me, as far as I can tell, most of a year, but it appears to me that as of this evening, having written THE END at the end of an awful lot of text, my novel UMBRA is finally finished.
Of course, there are bits and pieces in the MS that need fixing up, and research things to put in to those places where currently I have these little placeholder bits, and I need to see if all the new material I've added to what was there before I embarked on all this revision/rewriting/etc still fits together all right, but in all important respects, yep, it's finished!
I will now go and flop on the couch and watch soccer. Oh, and maybe get something to eat. Gadzooks, but I'm tired!

Wahoo! For he's a jolly good fellow, God Save the Queen etc. Sounds like another cracker of a novel - can't wait for publication!
Also, commiserations to the Socceroos, for whom I was roundly cheering, interspersed with booing for the dastardly Italian team. I haven't seen diving like that since the last Olympic pool events... :(

Congratulations! Keep 'em coming, we like to be entertained!
Enjoy the soccer (amazingly we're still in it after the Croatia game) and enjoy a well earned break.
